Sephora, Long-lasting eyeliner in Fancy Blue 13

Hello everyone,
It's me again. I'm busy with uni, gym, nail polishes, blogging and planning the summer...drawing has to wait (I've got a feeling that it's going to be a very refreshing break). Today I've got a lovely eyeliner to show you. Everyone who knows me can tell that I'm addicted to black eyeliner (apart from lipsticks)... but a few days ago  I realised that black is somewhat too heavy for the summer (I'm going to be out a lot, so I should resemble a human being, otherwise I wouldn't bother). Since it is a crazy colour, I decided to get something on a budget (just in case). I'm really happy with my choice though. It's very intense, dries quickly, stays and doesn't shift for the whole day (I use it over eyeshadow base, I'll try to wear it without any base soon and will probably update this entry). I'm in love with this shade. I'm also in love with another blue eyeliner by Make Up Forever, which is like sky blue and has a bit of shimmer...I think I can't live without, so I'll wait for -20% in Sephora. Yay!

See ya xx

NYX lipsticks II

Hi all,
Whoa, I've been off for a month. Not sure if anyone noticed? I wanted to write about some things, but I didn't feel like writing at all...well, there's no point in forcing onself, right? A proper break is always refreshing. I have some new make up stuff (Mac mineralize blushes, Inglot eyeshadows) ... I think I'll post swatches soon (I'm postponing drawing and painting till summer, my studies are annoying and I'm usually too moody to draw...). Anyway, the lipsticks! I got another batch just after Easter and I'm all in love.

They look a bit the same indeed and I got scared a little, but on the lips - it's a whole new story.
Fig, Doll, Off the beaten path, India, Berry
Fig is a lovely coral shade, it's rather light but at the same time it's pretty bold in real life, so I guess it's not for everyone.

Doll - it's like a dusty dark pink, reddish...reminds me of wine colour a little, but less deep. I find it a bit dark, heavy to use daily and don't really know what kind of make up matches it, so it's my least favourite of the bunch. Still, it's a lovely shade.

Off the beaten path (Black label) - it's a soft reddish colour, very fresh, somewhere between pink and orange. This is more of a doll colour, I'd say!

India (Black label) - I can't really swatch it. Pale lipsticks, with a lot of white, are clearly not for me. It looks lovely mixed with a clear lip gloss...will take photos soon.

Berry (Black label) - another lovely shade. It's a soft red again, on a cool side...but it's very subtle, not like those classic red shades. I can't really tell what it is that makes it so wearable. Maybe there is a hint of white to it or something like that?

NYX lipsticks

Hello,
Everyone knows that I'm a lipstick junkie (luckily I have only a couple of them, unlike nail varnishes!). The reason for that was that I quite like expensive ones (not because they're expensive but because I really hate lipstick from drugstores - the smell, texture, finish, colours - meh). Luckily I've discovered NYX lipsticks, which are cheap, have a wide range of colours and I'm simply in love with their pigmentation and creamy texture.

I'm brave enough to post some swatches, but please don't laugh at my lips...I know it looks a bit ridiculous (as if I were pouting), but it's my 'normal' look and I can't really change it. Also, this is my first time to swatch lipsticks, I can't quarantee that the colours are perfect...it also depends on lip pigmentation. This is how they look on me - more or less.

Pumpkin Pie, Frappuccino, Paris, Louisiana, Diva

I want more, aww! My plan is to order some more, test the colours and once I find a great shade, I'm going to look for dupes in Sephora. What a a bargain, haha!
But to be honest, I'm quite happy with their quality

More nail polishes

Hello everyone,
Just a quick note - I felt a bit down recently and I thought I needed a new project to work on (preferably something pleasant and relaxing). I've started a new blog just for nail polishes (I like them too much, I have too many of them and I  started to recognise colours and brands  on people's nail in the streets, it was high time really)...

Feel free to go and check my Whale's Nails! :)
Tomorrow I'll be posting new bracelets here, hopefully...

See you!

Bobbi Brown Metallic Long-Wear Eye Kit

Hello,
A little make up review...I just got it yesterday so I cannot be very precise yet.
Obviously, I really really like this set, it's a great value for money, I believe. The kit comes with  a gel eyeliner in Black Ink 1, cream eyeshadow Mercury, Cleansing oil and a duel-ended brush. I got it at House of Fraser, I think it's also available in their official online store.

Here's the photo of the box.

I'll focus on the eyeshadow, as everyone raves about Bobbi Brown's gel eyeliners anyway.
One could think that Mercury is a regular silver colour, but it's not really the case.
It's a very sheer colour with a lot of glitter. The colour is a quite strange (unusual) too, it's a bit of beige silver with pinkish and bluish sparkles...

I put two layers in this swatch, then I wanted to smudge it a little to show you also the sparkles - but it did not want to move at all, it just stayed intact. Interesting!

I applied it onto my eyelid too, but I haven't thought it over really, so I have no any other make on my eye, so forgive it for loooking so creepy. It's only one layer, very sheer as you can see...I really like it that it's so light, will work great for the summer. I can also imagine it to look lovely on some darker eyeshadows. Overall, I like this product, it's something different and easy to wear.

As for Cleansing oil, I haven't used it yet, and honestly, I don't think I will anytime soon - I have many similar products opened, so it's wiser to wait a little and keep it unopened.

See you soon,
x

Background Makeover

Hello,
I've been painting quite a lot these days...I'm  a bit slow, I don't know...I don't think there's something wrong with me, just oil painting and layering is a bit of a bummer sometimes.

Anyway, I came back to the painting which I'd started in the summer...and I thought it needs a proper makeover. It seems I'll go for a more classical background ( of course, it will have more of a landscape detail to it soon). I really love dark backgrounds and I thought it kinda matches this one, but then, after a few months, I decided otherwise.
It's still NOT done...I think it'll take me another year to finish, but I love to spend so much time on painting, even though I keep on complaining, hah. I've heard it's very wrong to show unfinished work, but I don't really care...

It's difficult to take a proper photo of  wet paintings, trust me!
New one!

Older  version!

More to come.
Live long and prosper.

xx

Lovecats

Hello,
Just a short note...I managed to finish two bracelets/bangles...Cat theme at last, as requested.  I really hoped to do more, sadly I feel a bit bad these days... but I'm not here to complain, I'm getting better and I'll post new ones in a few days.

I think I'm going to keep the grey and black one for myself, I like simple design of it.  (I can paint more  of them in case if anyone wants). My brother suggested that I should make "bespoke" bracelets with the real cats. I liked this idea! So, if you want anything like that, feel free to email me. Thanks!

The purple one has 3 different white cats
Sorry for horrible photos, it was dark and my battery was dying!

More to come soon.

The bad news is that I'm running out of bracelets, I think I need to order more just now.

See you soon,

Speedy Delivery

Hey,
So, I'm writing about make up again...I don't really know what happened to me, but I'm so in love with make up these days. Two years ago I got a bag of stuff from MAC and been using it all the time. Surprise, surprise -  suddenly I got bored  to death with it...
Anyway, I ordered some stuff from Asos, as they had/still have?/ free worldwide delivery (yay). The most amazing thing is that it arrived in 3 days, I still can't believe it. The only bad thing is that my card has been blocked because apparently my personal data leaked...(but my new card just arrived, yay!)

I'll start with my favourite product.
I'm not a huge lip gloss person, so I thought it's a great way to get many colours for little money. I paid £14 for a set of 8, 5ml.
The colours are lovely, sheer, the taste/smell isn't overpowering ( a bit like bubble gum), they're not sticky and in fact, they're quite moisturising. The only drawback, I would say, is the tingle...I can't decide if I like it, or not. I don't care that much, but I can imagine days when I'll find it annoying. Anyway, good value for money!

Now, what I like less, but can't complain since I only paid £5 for the whole set.
Black Kohl, Volumising Big Brush Mascara and lipstick in Baby Pink
I'll start with the lipstick...the colour is absolutely appalling....I can't imagine anyone for whom it would be a flattering shade. It's too white and makes your teeth look yellow. It reminds me of a shade you would get in a Barbie set for little girls.

Kohl is quite nice, proper black, smooth, doesn't shift much...but I love eyeliners, so I'm not really sold on this.

My fave product is Big Brush Mascara, it's very natural, doesn't create dramatic effect, which is great for day time look.  My lashes look much better, but I can hardly tell that I have any mascara on.

I'd swatch them, but I'm not sure if anyone would be interested...so let me know, if you like.

I was about to write about eyeshadows too, but this post is way too long already.
See you soon!

NOTD For Audrey

Hi,
I wasn't planning on posting any entries about nails of the day....Surprisingly, today everyone loved mine and I even managed to take a photo of my mani in the morning (sorry to my friends for being such a loser/geek/creep but I just love nail polishes, haha), so here I am.
This is For Audrey, dedicated to Audrey Hepburn, inspired by Tiffany's blue and Breakfast at Tiffany's film.
Lovely, isn't it?

Aww, btw I'm so exicited!  Patrick Wolf is playing in Warsaw in April and most probably I'll be going. Actually, I saw him many times in London, but it will be fun to see him in my home country and it will be just different,  I guess. It was a long time ago....over 4 years ago but it feels like yesterday...Christ,
where did the time go?
Apart from that, it will be great to go somewhere, run away from university and mundane, boring chores. Who's with me?

Make up, Make up

Hiya,
I thought that I'll post something about make up because I haven't done it before...I hope at least some of you will enjoy it.
So, I'm actually a huge make up fan, I love reading about new products  (something pleasant in the cruel world). I'm not very skilled though, so I mostly limit my make up to eyeliner and lipsticks...in fact, I always wanted to be a make up artist, but it never worked out (hi mom!) I got these lately, they were on sale and I think I wouldn't give it a go for  its regular price, despite fine quality (I mean Make Up For Ever). Art Deco base is the best thing ever and I'd pay even more for it, if needed, ha.

Waterproof pencils set, cream eye shadow and  Art deco eye shadow base
The eyeshadow looks like this, I have no idea what's called precisely so I'm showing the label.
I think it's going to last for ages, I've been using it for a week and you can hardly see it...
Now the swatch...this is like two layers, it looks metallic, one layer is more sheer (obviously) and you can see little sparkles/very fine glitter.

Now, the pencils...I haven't got much experience with pencils, so I don't really know what to say about them. They're soft and don't come off easily...I really love colour selection in this set,  these are the only colours I can stand on my eyelids...no weird blues, no weird green, no weird purples, no awkward hellos from the tin box.
black, steel silver, light silver, copper, light gold

I skipped the black here, because it's just regular black, nothing exciting.

That would be all, I wanted to write about nail polishes too, but the post is too long already...so, next time! See you, Taxx
